In my opinion, I believe that materialism isn't the belief of comfort, pleasure, and wealth are the most desirable things in life. Materialism is actually a form of philosophical monism that holds that matter is the fundamental substance in nature. In other words, materialism is the philosophical belief that the world is made of material, and that there are no other types of entity. Which shows why I do not agree that that is the meaning of materialism.
