How to Measure Your Water Tank For a New Tank Liner

Water tanks are generally either round or rectangular in shape. Most often all that is required is to measure the internal dimensions, and it must be the internal dimensions as this is where the liner has to fit.

However if you can’t get access to the inside, you can measure the outside and note the wall thickness.

Round Water Tanks

The most common type of water tank is the round corrugated or concrete water tank. Measuring a circular tank is as simple as measuring the height, and either the diameter or circumerfence of the inside of the tank. Make sure to note which measurement you take.

If you can’t get access to the inside, just measure the outside and either measure or estimate the wall thickness.

We recommend you measure in units of either mm (millimetre) or m (metres).
