People began to aspire knowledge and put experimenting before theorizing now. they wanted real and provable evidence of all their observations. 

there are for an instance the different models, the helicentric and geocentric view of the world.

important is the return to ancient ideas and also ideals, like the beauty of the human body, which was considered immoral during the middle ages, and now was put as a form of aesthetic.

whereas during the middle ages, most aspects of life were focused on biblical doctrines and the afterlife, and of attempts to live according to the ideals of the church.
