Which type of writing should not use informal language

All writing. Unless you are texting with someone who writing with the dialogue of someone who is not formal informal language should not be used. You want your work to be almost elegant. Don't go overboard with words only half your class will understand but just don't be to informal. You want to be impressive and talk like someone who is ahead in their years. You might feel like it is old fashioned but some teachers like that it makes you seem mature.
