If you had to pick between Percy Jackson and Harry Potter, who would you pick? Also, who’s your favorite Percy Jackson character?

Nice question! I've read through and loved both franchises, but if I had to pick one, I'd definitely go with the Percy Jackson series. As a whole, every single character is fresh and brings personality to the story. The way Rick Riordan switches between POVs in the later serieses is amazing and never stops being investing. The characters are full of energy, and you don't even realize you're in deep until you can't put down the book. The whole universe is one to get lost in.

Not to mention the incredible diversity that paints each character and makes them all special (as cliché as that sounds, bear with me!). Different upbringings, nationalities, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, Riordan makes it so kids can see themselves in the heroes he writes.

I've read a comment recently that went "'Percy Jackson' is incredible in that, Percy isn't a hero who overcomes his ADHD and dyslexia, he's a hero with ADHD and dyslexia." The things that make the characters different make them strong, unique, and fun, not something that hinders them.

My favorite characters are Leo Valdez and Nico di Angelo!

huck's relationship with food is a prominent theme throughout the novel, and during his time on jackson's island and working his way down river, huck revels in and enjoys his ad hoc dining. in the first chapter, we observe huck is ironically trapped in a "civilized" world, when he would prefer to live freely in nature.

1.   in sonnet 18, the speaker wants to describe the beauty of his love, but can’t find the words to do so. the speaker says “then in mid-utterance the lay was lost” when he tries to think of the words to describe his love’s beauty.   through his defeat of finding words to describe his love, he shows his love for her.

2.   instead of describing how perfect his love is or comparing her to other beautiful things, he says she is average and there is nothing special about her.   at the last 2 lines of the poem, the volta changes the poem by saying that even though his love is average in beauty, his love for her is special and unique. so instead of praising her throughout the whole poem, he contrasts her average characteristics with his special love for her.

3.   the beloved asked the speaker to describe how he feels about her. she begins to describe what she feels but "drop the torch" and says that she can't do it because the words "hid in me out of reach." the the speaker says "nay, let the silence of my womanhood command my woman-love to thy belief" and that her silence will have to be the answer to his question.
