Tittle: Missing Dog Poster C H 1 Have you seen my dog?

In chapter 1, Buck is stolen and sold by the treacherous Manuel. We never learn how Judge Miller feels after losing his dog. Your job is to help Judge Miller in the search for his beloved dog. Create a missing poster for Buck that can be hung up in the Santa Clara Valley area. Be sure to include all of the required information listed below.

Missing Poster Requirements:

-All writing must be typed or written in marker/colored pencils. You can do this on paper, or electronically

-Must have a large heading or title.

-Must include:

A picture of Buck (either drawn by hand or from the internet). The dog should look similar to what a St. Bernard/Scotch Shepherd mix would be. Use the physical description in the book to assist you.

- A description of Buck's physical appearance and behavior/personality. (Remember this would be according to Judge Miller or one of the Miller children.) Any details from the book must have a page numbers after them in parenthesis. (The first few pages of the chapter will be most helpful.)

- A reasonable reward. Remember, Buck was sold to Francois and Perrault for $300. He was exchanged for $150 to the people that assisted in his kidnapping. Judge Miller is a rich man. How much is Buck worth to him?

-Contact information. Create a unique address using the information Buck gives us in his description of Judge Miller's home. The city is Santa Clara Valley and the state is California.

-Include where Buck was last seen and with whom. Use what really happened to Buck in your clues to Buck's whereabouts. Any specific details from the book that are used should be followed with page numbers in parenthesis.

Read the excerpt from act 1 of a doll's house. helmer: nora! [goes up to her and takes her playfully by the ear.] the same little featherhead! suppose, now, that i borrowed fifty pounds today, and you spent it all in the christmas week, and then on new year's eve a slate fell on my head and killed me, and— nora: [putting her hands over his mouth]. oh! don't say such horrid things. helmer: still, suppose that happened, —what then? nora: if that were to happen, i don't suppose i should care whether i owed money or not. helmer: yes, but what about the people who had lent it? nora: they? who would bother about them? i should not know who they were. helmer: that is like a woman! but seriously, nora, you know what i think about that. no debt, no borrowing. there can be no freedom or beauty about a home life that depends on borrowing and debt. we two have kept bravely on the straight road so far, and we will go on the same way for the short time longer that there need be any struggle. nora: [moving towards the stove]. as you , torvald. how does the interaction between helmer and nora advance the plot? nora realizes that helmer will completely disapprove of her having borrowed money, so she has to continue to keep it a secret from him. nora realizes that she and helmer have the same ideas about financial issues, and the conversation brings them closer together later in the play. helmer realizes that nora is more responsible with money than he originally thought, and he trusts her more with finances later in the play. nora realizes that helmer knows a lot more about borrowing and lending, and she will seek his input later when she needs it.
