. Conner was anxious. Tomorrow was the big rowing
competition, and he had been preparing for this day for
months. Every day after school, he and his father had token
his boat out back on the water and practiced rowing drills.
Finally, his dad had convinced him to enter into a competition
just like he had done as a child. Conner thought long and hard
about competing, and he decided that if he wanted to be like
his dad when he grew up, entering a competition was the
perfect first step! Even though he was nervous, he knew he
was well-prepared.
