Given that,

The percentage of the subject,

Physics = 20 %

Chemistry = 10 %

Engineering technology = 40 %

Information technology = 30 %

We know that,

Pi chart :

Pie charts are normally used to represent the percentage data.

And usually the percentage denoted by each series is give next to the corresponding slice of pie.

A circular statistical graphic is called a pie chart which is divided into slices to exemplify numerical proportion.

It represents by the quantity which is proportional to the arc of length of each slice in the pie chart.

According to question,

The given pie chart represents the undergraduates of a selected state university in Sri Lanka.

It can be explained by considering that 1000 students enrolled in the University. It is given that maximum no of students has chosen Engineering and technology i.e. 40% which is equivalent to 400 students. 30% have chosen IT which is around 300 students, 20% have chosen physics i.e. 200 students which are half of Engineering and technology. While the remaining students has chosen  

chemistry i.e. 10% which is equivalent to 100 ( one-fourth of Engineering).
