Your oral presentation should be 2–3 minutes long. Although it is based on your research project, you should not be reading your paper.
Organize:
Choose the organizational pattern that best suits your topic.
Topical (moves from idea to idea, theme to theme, etc.)
Chronological (uses time sequences for a framework)
Problem and Solution (presents a problem with one or more solutions)
Cause and Effect (a popular and specific version of the problem and solution model)
Don’t forget to frame your presentation with an introduction and conclusion.
The introduction should
Get the audience’s attention.
Present your topic in a clear and interesting way.
Show the topic’s importance.
Forecast the main points or major ideas of your presentation.
The conclusion should
Inform the audience that you’re about to close.
Summarize the main points of your presentation.
Leave the audience with an idea or concept to remember or to ponder.
Present:
How you deliver your presentation is almost as important as its content.
Use a tone appropriate to your audience.
Use a style appropriate to your topic and audience.
Speak clearly.
