THE MARTIAN: Throughout the story, the Martian says that Mrs. LaFarge knows what he is and that the other townspeople, when they encounter the Martian, know what he is. Why do you think the people do not care and want the Martian anyway, even though they know that what they are seeing and experiencing is not real?

The people, even after knowing that what they are seeing and experiencing is not real, wanted the Martian because they all saw in him that one person who was mostly in their minds.

In the account dated September 2005/2036, the novel chronicles about the life of LaFarge and his wife Anna, who lost their son Tom on Earth. One thunderstorming night, a figure like Tom appears on their door. LaFarge soon learns that he is not Tom, but a Martian, who has the ability of shape-shifting. Even after everyone in the town learned about 'the Martian', of who he is, they still wanted him because they all saw in him that person, who was mostly in their minds. For instance, the Martian appeared to be Tom, the dead son of LaFarge and Anna; and lost daughter Lavinia to Spaulding family; to some he appeared criminal, etc.

They wanted to have the Martian because they did not want to lose that person who was mostly on their minds once again.

to kill a mockingbird basically is about a lawyer who goes against everything in a racist society like at the time of this novel, to defend a black man accused of sexual abuse. in the bible there are cases like that of joseph, who was accused by the woman of potifar, for a crime similar to that of tim robbinson, of that novel (genesis 39: 1-20). at this point we see that god also provides the escape to joseph, who was accused unjustly, but in his time, and through his attitude, his faith was not shaken, and god provided the solution. the perspective of god also written in the bible and not pay evil with evil. (ephesians 4: 32, 1 thessalonians 5: 15, 1 peter 3: 9). atticus, the lawyer, demonstrated during this lee novel, empathy, love of neighbor, understood the situation of this accused man. he went against everything in that society, and stood in favor of that man, for the injustice committed. this shows the empathy, the love taught by christ, in some passages that speak of love and justice in the sermon of the beatitudes (especially verses 6 and 7 of matthew 5).
