It happened on the rainiest night in January all alone in my house the mean old man, Mr. Parker started sinking in the snow. The house cat, Carol ran to her bowl expecting food but found none. There was no one to feed her; her only owner was sinking. The other neighbors had gone to sleep, so there was no one to help him. After a while it got dark, and Mr. Parker was still sinking. In the meantime, the house cat decided to go and get her own food, from the local market; she had once seen Mr. Parker get cat food from there and she knew that whenever someone stepped in front of the door, it would let them in. When she stepped out onto the front porch, she spotted Mr. Parker through the window of the living room of my house. Carol knew she had to help him, so she promised herself she would. She still had to get her food though, surely she needed it so that it could give her strength to pull Mr. Parker out of the snow. The only problem was that it was still raining. Carol did not like rain, in fact, she hated it. Plus, how was she going to get Mr. Parker out?! She was only a cat after all. After another couple of minutes, Carol thought of a plan, she would alert someone! But how? She couldn't speak human, only cat. She decided that she would just lead them to her owner, maybe they could get him out. So, she started out to the store, in the rain. After around 20 minutes she arrived. She went to the front door and stood, waiting for it to open. Something wasn't right... What was it? Carol thought for a while. "There are cars here... The store is here... What's missing?" She thought. She told herself that everything was fine, but then she realized, the lights were off! They were never off! What was wrong?? She walked in front of the door and tried to pry it open with her claws, nothing worked. She decided to go back home and look for food, surely there was some left there. Why hadn't she checked before she left? She realized that she had not thought this through and headed home. She decided that she could get Mr. Parker out by herself. Once she got there, she jumped up onto the porch and looked through the window of my house. Mr. Parker was still sinking, but faster! He seemed to be sleeping... "Why is he sleeping at a time like this?" Carol thought. She went inside and went to the kitchen. Looking around the kitchen, she was about to give up when she realized, she didn't look in the cabinets! She jumped onto the stack of books on the counter and jumped into the open cabinet. There she found a feast of cat food! Her favorite! She knocked a few cans onto the ground and jumped to the floor. "How can I get these open?" She thought. She scratched at the top of the cans and found that there was a little handle facing downward. She slid her front claw underneath it and pushed it upward. It was hard, but after a while the can was open. She ate until there was nothing left in the can. She was full. Now she was going to save Mr. Parker. She went outside and jumped onto the rail of the front porch. She looked through the window and... Mr. Parker was... GONE?!!!
