PLEASE HELP ME I WILL GIVE YOU A BRANLISTCan someone highlight the evidence? Highlight the writer’s explanation of the evidence 4) HighlighHighlight the writer’s claim. Student model “The Pedestrian” (Use different colors to highlight) Ray Bradbury is asserting that too much technology can cause people to become trapped, so much that people don't want to participate in life outside of the house. It is a sign of weakness and hopelessness, and he's trying to warn the reader of what might happen in our society. As stated in the passage "the street was silent and long and empty with only his shadow moving like the shadow of a hawk in the mid-country". This shows the loneliness of the setting where no one wants to get out of their house. This relates to our society today because of the virus and how it is affecting our mental health, our education, and so much more. Another description by Bradbury is that, "he would see cottages and homes with their dark windows, and it was not unequal to walking through a graveyard where only the faintest glimmers of firefly light appeared in flickers behind the windows". This symbolizes how the people inside the homes are so quiet that it sounds and feels like a graveyard with souls flying around, and I feel like this is why the author wrote this so that we won't get to this point. 1
