a. a quotation or summary of a passage previously read in order to support what i'm claiming is true about that passage.
b. putting some words in quotes so it looks like they came from somewhere else
c. quoting dialogue so it already has quotation marks around it.
d. adding any quote from any book just so it looks like a read something and know what i'm talking about.
