Hello! Im doing a reading response journal and I was wondering if this quote from The Giver could be considered an idiom, “ ‘It jumps out of my hand onto the ground...’ “ I would like this to be answered quickly but I have the rest of the day so I’m not in a huge rush, thank you!

Depends if something actually jumped out of your hand onto the ground if not then i think it is but whats the actual meaning? ._.

1. read the following excerpt from franklin d. roosevelt's "fireside chat 19":
