He traveled all the time and would always bring George something like he was his child. Mr. Jackson would always let George knew he believed in him. He told Mr. Jackson he wanted to attend Seton Hall University for the Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Plus Program with his friends. Mr. Jackson wasn't surprised at all by this. Mr. Jackson played an important role in George's life.

Miss Johnson was also involved with George. She was his third-grade teacher. She is the reason why he loved school. She introduced him to algebra and Shakespeare. She formed a Shakespeare club and George was the president. She made George feel smart and special, and curious about the world. He would never forget her.

Reggie played an important role in Sam's life. He was a kung fu instructor, and Sam attended his class. He was the type of man Sam wanted to become one day. "He was a good guy who commanded respect from the streets in a way that was different from everything I had seen." George looked up Reggie and didn't want to disappoint him.

Carla played an important role in all three of the boys' lives. She was the student development specialist for the program. She is the woman who interviewed the boys for getting into Seton Hall University. She helped them get into Seton Hall University.
