Assessment Instructions Now that you know more about how to create balance and use effective time management strategies, it is time to put them into practice.

This assessment has two parts. Be sure to read through the requirements of each part, including the rubric, before you begin your work.

Part I: Daily Schedule

Create a 24-hour schedule for this day with each of your activities included in it. Next to each activity, list a detail about it. For example, if you do chores in the morning for 30 minutes, list make bed and feed animals. Use a specific color (blue perhaps). Then, when you do your evening chores for 30 minutes, list clean the dishes and put away leftovers, list the activity as "chores" and use the same color as you did for the morning chores (blue).

Your chart should include a 24-hour period. View the abbreviated sample below:

Get your daily schedule you completed in this lesson. Look at it to be sure your time and your activities are balanced. Did you also include at least 9 hours for sleep?

Part II: Reflection

Answer these questions in complete sentences. To be sure you use complete sentences, use part of the question in your answer. For example, if the question is, “What is your favorite color?” your answer could be, “Blue is my favorite color.” or “My favorite color is blue.”

Look at everything in the day you created. What do you discover as you analyze your time? Do you see holes in your day that are not filled? Is there too much to be done and not enough time to do it?

Think about something on this list that shows your flexibility. How does being flexible in this situation specifically benefit you?

Look for balance in your schedule. How can you incorporate something into your day or take something out of your day to create more balance in your activities?
