Directions: Read the passage, and answer the question that follows. Every day, Tony trained prancing horses and lumbering elephants and practiced swinging on the high
trapeze. The sharp smell of sawdust and the thrill of dizzying heights were second nature to him, and he loved
his many wonderful friends in the circus "family." Yet he dreamed of a vastly different life for himself, maybe a
career in the business world.
Then, the circus owner suddenly announced that he had to close down the circus because it wasn't
profitable. Tony breathed a sigh of relief, but later he had a panicky feeling because the circus was all he knew.
He wondered what else he could do and then he had an idea. What about the moving picture business? Maybe
there was a place for him in that growing and exciting industry!
What is the best possible conclusion that you could draw from the underlined sentence in the text?
a Tony hated the circus and couldn't wait to get away from it.
b. At last, Tony was free to explore a new career path.
Tony suspected the circus was failing and was relieved to know it for sure.
d. Tony thought the owner was planning to sell the circus to someone else.

What is implied in this sentence from mark twain's "the ? 1,000,000 bank-note"? i was puzzled, and wanted to discuss the matter a little further, but they didn't; so i took my leave, feeling hurt and insulted to be made the butt of what was apparently some kind of a practical joke, and yet obliged to put up with it, not being in circumstances to resent affronts from rich and strong folk.
