That was it! Kari suddenly remembered a magic trick she had performed at her little brother’s birthday party. Kari’s family and friends had all gathered in the backyard around the small patio table, where plates, cups, forks, and spoons rested on top of a white tablecloth. Kari had grabbed the edges, counted to three, and yanked. Everything on top of the tablecloth stayed in one place, but the tablecloth was liberated. Kari’s family applauded.
