After much thought Snowball declared that the Seven Commandments could in effect be reduced to a single maxim, namely: "Four legs good, two legs bad." This, he said, contained the essential principle of Animalism. What does this decision by Snowball foreshadow? Snowball will try to get his way by tricking the animals into thinking in overly simplistic terms. Soon Animalism will no longer be relevant to the animal society. The animals will hold an election to change the commandments. Snowball is getting too old to remember each commandment.
