How can changing the elements of a story (setting, characters, point of view, etc.) change the story?

ok um i think ,the setting can create the mood of the story,the point of view can allow you to see the actions of that specific character..and the characters can be mean or kind and effect the story... I tried i dont know if you have answer choices..

For example, changing something as simple as the setting can change the whole point of view a reader has towards the story. The whole plot or the charcter's personality can also change drastically.
