Passage
Tana and Makenna had spent a lot of time together when they were in the same class in fifth grade. But once they were in middle school, they only had one class together, plus Makenna was involved in a lot of after-school activities. Tana hardly ever saw her, so Tana started writing notes to Makenna during class. On several occasions, Makenna got in trouble for passing notes. Not wanting to get into more trouble, Makenna stopped writing back to Tana. Hurt, Tana stopped speaking to Makenna entirely. After a while, Makenna realized how much she missed Tana, so she made arrangements to meet Tana every day to eat breakfast together. For the rest of the year, Tana and Makenna enjoyed starting their days talking and catching up.
