Research the following and organize your research into this Historical Context Organizer. You will research:
The date the novel was written
The time setting of the novel
What was going on in the world at this time? What were the major social, political, or economic events of this time?
What views did the author have about these events?
What are one to two major themes of your novel?
Use a minimum of two reliable sources
Creative Presentation
Once you have completed your research, you can decide how you will present your findings. Be creative! You can create a slide-show presentation, a video, a collage with a written explanation, a written paper with images, or any other method to present your findings. The presentation must contain the following information:

The title, author, and date the novel was written
The time setting of the novel
A brief summary of the plot
The major theme in the novel
A summary of the social, political, or economic events going on at the time the novel was written
An explanation of how the novel relates to the author’s time period
What was the author’s view of the events in the novel?

Your presentation must include:

A bibliography page citing sources (web addresses, books, or magazines).
Must contain visuals (clip art, photos, drawings, charts, costumes, etc.). You can use visuals you have created or visuals you paste into your presentation. If you use visuals created by others, be sure to cite the web address under the visual.
Length requirements
For PowerPoint or Word document: a minimum of six slides or pages.
For a video: a minimum of a two-minute video.
Save your work to your computer or drive.
Submit your work in Segment 1 Advanced 02 Explore the Background.
If you cannot save your worksheet, you can type the information into a document and submit.
