"Hey, Christy, what are you doing tonight?" asked Myshonda. "We're trying to decide what movie to go see. I think Giant Shape-Shifting Robots 2 sounds good, but Beth wants to see Revelations of a Shopping Fanatic. What do you think?" Christy smiled at her friends and shook her head.
"Sorry, guys," she replied. "I can't go to a movie tonight. It's my brother Matt's birthday, and I'm going to bake a cake for him." Beth looked annoyed.
"I wish you'd said something earlier," said Beth. "I was kind of counting on you being there." Her friends rolled their eyes.
"Anyway, back in the real world, where everything doesn't revolve around Beth," laughed Myshonda. "I didn't know you had a brother, Christy. I've never heard you talk about him."
"I like to wait until I know people pretty well before I introduce them to Matt," Christy said. "He has Down syndrome, and it can make some people uncomfortable."
"Are you kidding me?" asked Beth in a horrified voice. "Your brother is sick? Does that mean you're contagious or something?"
"No, Beth," explained Christy. "Matt's condition is a result of a problem with his chromosomes. He's not contagious, and neither am I. He just develops at a different rate than the rest of us."
"He doesn't, like, have to wear diapers or something, does he?" asked Beth. Myshonda gasped and turned red in embarrassment.
"Beth!" she said angrily. "Why can't you ever think before you open your big mouth?" Christy smiled at Myshonda.
"Don't worry," she told her friends. "I've had to put up with all kinds of rude comments when it comes to my brother. It's taught me to be more thoughtful about other people, though. I try to find the good in everybody, even when it's nearly impossible to see." Beth sighed loudly and looked at her watch.
"Well, this has been a regular afterschool special," she said. "But we'd better hurry up if we want to make that movie."
"On second thought," said Myshonda. "If you wouldn't mind, Christy, I'd like to walk with you for a while. I want to become a nurse after graduation, and I'd like to learn more about Down's syndrome."
"What about me?" asked Beth as her friends walked away.

Read the excerpt from "a defence of poetry.” poetry thus makes immortal all that is best and most beautiful in the world; it arrests the vanishing apparitions which haunt the interlunations of life, and veiling them, or in language or in form, sends them forth among mankind, bearing sweet news of kindred joy to those with whom their sisters abide—abide, because there is no portal of expression from the caverns of the spirit which they inhabit into the universe of things. poetry redeems from decay the visitations of the divinity in man. which details from the excerpt provide more information about shelley’s idea that poetry "makes immortal all that is best and most beautiful in the world”? check all that apply. arrests the vanishing apparitions which haunt the interlunations of life sends them forth among mankind, bearing sweet news to those with whom their sisters abide no portal of expression from the caverns of the spirit redeems from decay the visitations of the divinity in man
