First, leaving the water running is pointless, because as you’re brushing your teeth, you’re not using the water. I know you think that since everyone else is turning off the water why should you, since that’s just a drop in the bucket; but did you know that by turning the water off, you could save up to 8 gallons of water a day? The average faucet uses 2 gallons of water a minute. If you turned the water off while you brushed your teeth, you would help conserve water in our town, which needs it, because it rains so little here.”
