My Heros

Everyone has that one special person, a person that would stop time for them. That one person who is their real once in a lifetime hero. My hero is a high school boy named, Fernando Duran. He is 18 years old, and he loves to play sports, like, football, soccer, wrestling, boxing, and etc. He is kind, loving, caring, funny, handsome, energetic when he wants to be, strong physically and mentaly, amazing, and it would take years to type all of the things that make him, himself. If he had not been in my life, then I have no idea who, or where, or what, I would be today. He changed my life, and he changed me for the better. I love Fernando with all of my heart and everything that I am.

After that night, Fernando helped me get away from my biological dad’s custody. But after, we were never allowed to talk to each other again. On our last night together, Fernando and I, cried into each other's arms all through the night. In the morning, he and his family told me that they loved me, they hugged me, kissed me on the cheek and forehead, and waved me goodbye. When I was in the officer's car I cried my eyes out, until I heard a knock on the window. When I opened the door, Fernando ran into my arms, and cried. He finally caught his breath, and said, “Te amo tanto Breanna, ¡nunca lo olvides! Te encontraré, incluso si es lo último que hago. ¡Por favor, no me olvides nunca! ¡Te quiero! ¡Te quiero! And I know we'll get back together one day! I will never forget you, my brother! I love you! I'll see you as soon as possible! I love you Fernando!” Three years passed since the day I last saw Fernando and his family. I lived in a new county, and far away from them. All I wanted was to see Fernando, and to feel him hug me as tight as he could. I wanted to run away from the place where I lived, because even here in the new county, I was getting abused, mentally, physically, and sexually. When would Fernando finally find me, and take me home? At the time, I was at the house all alone, but when I heard a knock on the door, I thought that I was about to die. When I opened the door, all I saw was a flash of white, but then at the same moment, someone was hugging me tighter than ever. When I saw Fernando, I could not speak, I could not move. I was the happiest person in the world. But, time never lasts long when you are happy. Someone ripped Fernando out of my arms and threw him onto the ground. My life flashed before my eyes, seeing Fernando lying on the driveway concrete. Before I had time to move, I was grabbed by the neck, dragged into the house, and thrown into the refrigerator. Two years later, I moved to the town that I had met Fernando in. On my first day of school, I didn’t recognize anyone until recess. I saw a boy beyond the fence, he was within the middle school fences. He looked alone and very sad. For some strange reason, it felt like I knew this boy. Without even realizing it, I had started walking toward the boy behind the fence between the middle school and the elementary school. As soon as I was standing behind the boy, he turned around with tears in his eyes, saying that he had been crying for a while. One look, just one look, and we were both crying tears of joy. The boy behind the fence was Fernando. Through the years my Fernando Duran has always been there when I needed a shoulder to cry on, a hug, some food, someone to laugh with, and so much more. He has literally saved my life countless times. He has taken an actual bullet for me. Without him, I would probably be gone.
