In the preview of the text I noticed that señorita in the passage is different meanings to different people. In señorita they put the squiggly line on top to show change of pronunciation. The other thing I noticed was each verse is the saying of señorita of different people.

At first what I missed most

with their bright yellow petals

and dark brown facesThe word missed makes me think that the narrator wants to go back to her old home. The bright colors of her friends and her memories of them are different from the dull situation she is experiencing now.
