What A Day

There is a day that was easily the most memorable day of my life. Because nothing like that had ever happened to me or my family before. I had just gotten a job in the mall. Was my first job in the USA and I was very excited to have it. I was working at one of those little stores in the middle of the hallway called “Rise and Shine”. It sold costume jewelry, and the people seemed to like it. We always had a lot of customers. I had only been working for two weeks, but the manager liked me and I was doing well. My shift was from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. With lunch from 3 to 4, the slowest part of the day.

It July 7th and it was very special because it was my mother’s birthday. I was thinking about her and her party, while I was trying to figure out what present I could for her. The time was about 2:30, so I didn’t think that it would be a problem go shopping on my lunch break. I wasn’t really concentrating on the job, when a customer came up to booth. He was dressed a little strangely with orange pants and a purple shirt, but I didn’t pay attention to that because a lot of different kinds of people shop at this mall. He signaled for me to come to the other side of the booth because he wanted to know the price of a necklace or something. When I went over to him. I heard a loud noise coming from the other direction. Just as I looked away to see what the noise was. All of a sudden, another man started screaming and running toward something.

I thought to myself that that was unusual until I looked down and saw that the cash register was open. I don’t know how he did, but somehow the man had opened the register and taken out all of the money. I was very nervous because the had left me in charge. I immediately called the police, and came right away and took a report. When I went home I was shaken, and I knew that that day was one that I would never forget.
