.
Lady Macbeth's evil schemes and cruel torment of Macbeth ensure that
Macbeth rises to the throne.
• Macbeth's tyranny over Scotland would never have happened without Lady
Macbeth driving Macbeth to usurp the throne.
She is therefore indirectly responsible for all the hardships and death that
Scotland experiences under Macbeth's rule and her guilt, the cause of her
insanity that leads to her taking her own life, is appropriate.
