A park ranger in Colorado is working alone at an isolated park station for the day. As
he is making a pot of coffee in the middle of the morning, he thinks he smells smoke.
Leaving the station with his radio in hand, the park ranger crosses a small ravine as
the smell of smoke gets stronger. Near a small outcropping of boulders, the park
ranger comes upon a large bonfire full of trash and camping debris; he radios in the
news. The narrative ends when a group of park firefighters arrive and put out the fire
without it spreading.
