Read the story. The most ferocious storm of the winter had the wind howling and whistling all night long. We awoke to find that the storm had dumped
over 12 inches of snow on the ground, and the wind had whipped it into huge drifts.
After clearing the driveway, we moved on to more serious endeavors. We had discussed the feasibility of constructing a snowslide at the
back end of our yard. There was a clear consensus—it could be done. The snowslide would go as far back in the yard as possible. We wanted a
slide that would propel us all the way down the driveway on our sleds.
We packed snow solidly with steps notched into the back and the incline in front. When it was high enough, we decided to hose it down
with water. We thought the ice would make us go faster! When we finished, we stood back and viewed our work with a sense of pride
Now, to try it out It took quite a few attempts to give the snowslide a true test. First came the challenge of climbing the steps while
carrying your sled up with you-we had unwittingly iced them, too. One by one we all gave it a try, each finding a different challenge in actually
Sliding to the end. There were lots of laughs, squeals of joy and excitement, and even a few tears as we attempted to conquer the snowslide.
Finally, we arrived at a disturbing conclusion: If you survived the climb up the slide with your sled and made it down without pummeling
over the side of the slide, you only got up enough speed to make it to the maple tree about half way down the driveway!
We decided that an icy mound of snow right at the maple tree would help us build up enough speed to make it all the way to the road. We
set to work to complete this task. We spent the rest of the day constructing this snow structure and perfecting our techniques of propelling
ourselves down the driveway successfully. We were wet cold, battered, bruised, exhausted, and utterly happy. Late in the day we all went home.

Plz me asap select the correct text in the passage. which two sentences in the passage introduce counterarguments to the speaker’s position in favor of recycling? we only have a limited number of resources to serve humans around the globe. by recycling and reusing the resources we have, we can preserve what untouched natural resources we have while extending the life of the resources we’re currently using. admittedly, we cannot reuse or recycle all of the materials we use in our daily lives. some materials are not recyclable, such as certain food containers. others items are not biodegradable regardless of what we reuse them for, and that can create problems in the long run. my opponent would use these limitations of our ability to recycle to counter my points about the materials we can recycle. however, this is not an “all or nothing” scenario. we should reuse and recycle the materials that we can and try our best not to buy materials and products that can’t be reused or recycled. by doing our part and encouraging others to do their part, we can increase our chances of conserving our remaining natural and manmade resources over time.
