Use the info below (another thing) please use all of the info and describe why he was the best choice: Harold Godwinson: • Edward named Harold Godwinson as king before he died. • The strong and important men chose Harold to be their king too. • BUT, Harold promised William of Normandy that he would help him be king when Edward died. • He already controlled on England called 1 of Wessex. Harold Hardrada: • He felt he should have been king of England too. • His family were kings of England before Edward. • He wanted the crown for himself. • He wasn't related to Edward! William Of Normandy: • Visited England and Edward before he died agreed to name him the new king. • He sent troops to help Edward before he died and he was well respected by the English people. He was NOT related to Edward.
