Satish was standing on the balcony watching the last rays of the sun. Loud and angry voices in the street below distracted his attention. he ran down the stairs to see what had happened and ends up seeing two people fighting over what was better : Idli with sugar or Dosa with jam. No one knew how this conversation started but it did and then later everyone started getting involved. Everyone left their houses and were on the streets arguing over what was better Idli with sugar or Dosa with jam. No one really had an answer to this so they just said whatever they wanted to. Then a wise man came and broke this argument and then said "none of them are better , they both are equal but no matter what you say chocolate sauce and Dosa is the best!" then he argument started again and the wise man didnt seem very wise after what he said and i was just standing there thinking about how weird the community i am living in is. Then i just laughed at all of them and suddenly everyone stared at me and i stop laughing and everyone suddenly start laughing and i laughed with them .

Then i say how weird my community was but i knew even if they were weird they would always be there when i need them and that they are the funniest people i have seen my whole life

This excerpt is from “the poet” by alfred, lord tennyson. the poem describes a poet's consciousness and perception. which three lines suggest the richness of a poet's thoughts? thus truth was multiplied on truth, [the world like one great garden show'd,] and thro' the wreaths of floating dark upcurl'd, rare sunrise flow'd. [and freedom rear'd in that august sunrise] her beautiful bold brow, when rites and forms before his burning eyes melted like snow. [there was no blood upon her maiden robes] sunn'd by those orient skies; but round about the circles of the globes of her keen eyes and in her raiment's hem was traced in flame wisdom, a name to shake [all evil dreams of power--a sacred name.] and when she spake, [her words did gather thunder as they ran,] and as the lightning to the thunder which follows it, riving the spirit of man, making earth wonder, so was their meaning to her words. no sword of wrath her right arm whirl'd, [ but one poor poet's scroll, and with 'his' word] she shook the world.

Read this passage from “the fall of the house of usher.” which element of gothic literature is not obvious in this passage? as if in the superhuman energy of his utterance there had been found the potency of a spell, the huge antique panels to which the speaker pointed threw slowly back, upon the instant, their ponderous and ebony jaws. it was the work of the rushing gust—but then without those doors there did stand the lofty and enshrouded figure of the lady madeline of usher. there was blood upon her white robes, and the evidence of some bitter struggle upon every portion of her emaciated frame. for a moment she remained trembling and reeling to and fro upon the threshold—then, with a low moaning cry, fell heavily inward upon the person of her brother, and in her violent and now final death agonies, bore him to the floor a corpse, and a victim to the terrors he had anticipated. bleak or remote settings supernatural or otherworldly elements macabre or violent incidents strong language full of dangerous meaning
