When Robin's Unit is on patrol outside Baghdad, he describes not wanting to look at bodies of either soldiers or civilians. "At first I felt a little bit ashamed at how scared seeing bodies makes me, but I notice that everyone in First Squad stops talking when we come on that kind of scene. We do it in public, but this is a private war." What does he mean in the last sentence? He thinks the other soldiers like to see the bodies.

The war itself should not be held on public streets.

The personal battle of managing fear is a private one.

Privacy is impossible in a war zone.
