This Saturday at 8:00 p. m., city council members are holding an open meeting in the high school auditorium to discuss plans for a new sports park. The park will be built on the west side of town, facing Bass Lake. This area is a popular nesting ground for the Lucy’s warbler, a threatened bird species. Removing trees and changing the landscape of this area will destroy the warblers’ habitat. We must make our voices heard and do what we can to protect these lovely, rare birds.
