The cartoon's purpose is to show how large political leaders will ignore a problem, such as climate change, because the "cost" in terms of money is too large. The leader claims he "used to agree" with the fact that climate change is a real problem, however after discovering the amount of money needed to fix that problem he decided to support the fact that it is a "hoax." I agree with the cartoon in the sense that large and powerful political leaders are unwilling to pay the cost for problems, solely because they don't want to pay the amount. I also agree that instead of saying the facts, some leaders will say things that will only benefit them, factual or not.
