PLEASE HELP!
Kate's New Plan
by Owen Gladwell
I am late again, said Kate to herself, as she saw her school bus at the far end of the road. Now, even if I run, I won't be able to make it. Dad and Mom are busy. Otherwise, I would have asked them to drop me off. School is a long way. Even if I walk, it'll be midday by the time I get there. She headed back home to see if her Dad could take her to school, and luckily her Dad agreed.
"Kate, you must learn to organize your time better. If you wake up at least half an hour earlier, you will have enough time to get dressed for school, eat breakfast peacefully, and walk to your bus stop, but you don't seem to be doing anything about your habit of waking up late and rushing around the house. Your laziness has even begun to affect your grades. Use your time well. You don't realize how fast time flies and does not wait for anyone," said Dad, while he drove her to school.
"Yes, Dad, you are right," Kate replied. She added, "I must make a plan to use my time better. I will wake up at least half an hour earlier every day to make sure that I don't miss the bus. When I am at home I'll spend an hour every day practicing math, and then my grades will surely improve. I also need to spend an hour practicing my violin. My teacher was telling me the other day that she was going to choose some of us for the recital. This plan will ensure that I make productive use of my time at home."
Kate returned home from school that day and made a schedule with the help of her older sister, Kimaya. She decided to wake up earlier every day and practice math every evening for an hour. She also added an hour of violin practice every Tuesday. Her sister and parents helped her follow the schedule.
In a month's time, Kate not only began to score better grades, but she also began to play the violin very well. Her music teacher asked her to participate in the violin recital being held at the local music academy. Kate was overjoyed and realized how much time she had been wasting before.
Her parents and sister were proud of her, and her dad said, "See, Kate, time keeps moving. We must use every minute of it doing something good."

Before ending this lesson, take a moment to review an informative research essay you have written. you’ve probably already written a conclusion to the essay. but is it the best conclusion it can be? does it properly summarize the main subtopics of your essay? does it state in one or two sentences the “so what” of your topic. if your topic was abraham lincoln, your essay shouldn’t be just about abraham lincoln. it should answer, “so what about abraham lincoln? ” take five or ten minutes, and looking only at that single paragraph, revise your conclusion
