2. What skills do Katniss and Peeta notice about the other? Why is Katniss so surprised?

Peeta tells Haymitch that Katniss is good in hunting, in her use of the bow and arrow while Katniss says that Peeta is strong. She reveals how he is able to lift heavy bags and thus he'll be good in hand-to-hand combat.

The revelation by Peeta about her skills surprised Katniss. She at first thought that Peeta was just going along the "twin act" of supporting each other. But at times, she also wondered how he was able to know so much about her. Even though she suspects him of trying to demean her, she also wonders how he knew so much about her.
