The Jellyfish species Cyanea capillata or, the lions mane jellyfish has been cited as the largest jellyfish for years, But the Nemopilema nomurai jellyfish has become increasingly common in the waters of Japan or Korea and now it is the closest to the lion's mane jellyfish in size. It is the only species in the monotypic genus nemopilema. Jellyfish are a type of zooplankton and some of them are parasitic and carnivorous.
