So I'm writing a book, but I'm new to this. I am not sure how I am supposed to put the quotes in relation to each other. Could someone give me an example or help me. For example, how would I space this out?
I'm not very far from school, but far enough away that no one could see the incident happen. I get to the school in about 2 minutes, that's from where I ran into Ryan. When I get to the front of the school, I park my bike, run as fast as I can to Drivers Ed; and just when I think I may make it, I don't. "Ms. Williams," said the teacher, Mr. McCarver, "You have been a part of this school for 12 years, you should know now that lateness is never tolerated for any reason. Now go in that room over there and wait until the end of class. You may listen, but you will not be allowed to get your license today. Do you understand?" Standing in disappointment, I quickly reply, "Yes sir." At that, I walk into the small room, designated for students who are late for their drivers class.
