Descriptive writing means using the 5 senses touch, taste, smell, sight and sound. So describe your senses. Example- as we took our place on the stage I could see all the distant faces in the audience, some familiar and some unknown. Before we began I could hear the silence fall across the room, as I closed my eyes I took a deep breathe and imagined I was at home, alone in my room. My nerves began to calm and the words escaped me just as I had practiced. The song was sweet with a wonderful tone. As we ended the applause from the audience echoed through the auditorium, like thunder from a fierce storm, it was then I knew we had done what we came to do.
