A Vacation Gone Bad

Coming from Shreveport, Louisiana from seeing my family in August of 2019 and that's when things started to go wrong my car broke down in Leads, Alabama from there I needed help, I called on my family, church pastor and friends back where I am from (Shreveport, Louisiana) and no one back in Shreveport, Louisiana couldn't help me get back to Norfolk, Virginia so I start calling non-profit organizations and shelters in Leads, Alabama to see who could help me, my children and dog with somewhere to stay are to see if someone could help us get to Norfolk, Virginia. Unfortunately, my family and I ended up staying in Leads, Alabama for a couple of days until I was able to get some help. I had spent the last of the money on the vacation trip and my car was no longer any good (the motor had blown) so I had to leave it behind and find another way of getting back to Norfolk, Virginia. The same day a non-profit organization in Leads, Alabama agreed to help me and my children get back to Norfolk, Virginia. A pastor in Leads, Alabama put my family and me in a uber to get us to the hotel room that he brought for me and my family. The next day I had to leave my un-service dog behind as well because she was not a service animal. Nevertheless, I took my dog to a Birmingham, Alabama dog shelter to be adopted (I had my dog for nine years) and I didn't want to give my dog up because she was family. But I had no choice if I wanted to get back to Norfolk, Virginia. The non-profit organization (Traverlers Aide of Birmingham, Alabama) agreed to help me and my children get back to Norfolk, Virginia. (But not my dog), so, unfortunately, I was left without a dog. The non-profit organization brought my family and I Grey Hound tickets to get back home and gave my family and me money for food. When I finally got back home my children and I got into a car accident inside of a uber that left me and my children badly injured (so at that moment I didn't know what to think are how to feel) I was devastated I felt like a stroke of bad luck had hit us. Because I had a rough vacation of losing my dog, my car, my untie and my first cousin all in one month after everything was over I decided to rent a car and go to North Carolina to get another dog for my children and me for emotional support to help us recover at the end my children and me was back happy and well because we have a brand new dog and car.

Read this excerpt from wheels of change by sue macy. that said, it's hard to grasp the full extent of the bicycle's impact on americans in the late 19th century—particularly female americans. imagine a population imprisoned by their very clothing; the stiff corsets, heavy skirts, and voluminous petticoats that made it difficult to take a deep breath, let alone exercise. add to that the laws and social conventions that cemented a man's place as head of the household and holder of the purse strings. how suffocated women must have felt. and how liberated they must have been as they pedaled their wheels toward new horizons. what is the central idea of the excerpt
