You are a private detective who has been hired to investigate the death of a wealthy but eccentric Mr. Johnson, a man who was well known for his riches and reclusive in nature. He avoided being around others because he was always filled with anxiety and startled easily. He suffered from paranoia, and he would fire servants who he had employed for a long time because he feared they were secretly plotting against him. He would also eat the same meal for dinner every night: two steaks cooked rare and two baked potatoes with sour cream. Upon arriving at the tragic scene, you are told that Mr. Johnson was found dead in his home early this morning by servants. The previous evening the chef had prepared the usual dinner for Mr. Johnson, the servants had been dismissed early to avoid returning home during last night's terrible storm. When they returned in the morning Mr. Johnson's body was found face down in the dining room. Looking into the room, you start your investigation.

You see:

- The large window in the dining room has been shattered and appears to have been smashed open from the outside

- The body exhibits laceration (cuts) wounds and lies facedown by the table
- There is a large red stain that emanates from under the body
- An open bottle of red wine and a partially eaten steak still remains on the table
- A chair has been tipped over next to the body
- Under the table there is a knife with blood on it
What happened to Mr. Johnson? Explain

i would've assumed that he was drunk and did that but the knife was under the table. so i figured that somebody killed him and made it look like he got drunk and killed himself

Explanation: the red wine bottle is supposed to look like the blood so it can look like that's what was on the knife, he's laying by the table with the chair tipped over it was made to look like he stabbed himself dropped the knife and the knife rolled under the table, the cuts on him was supposed to make it look like he smashed the window, the wine bottle is to make it look like the guy had too much got drunk and killed himself. but the knife with the blood is supposed to be thought of as the wine. but why isn't it? because it was identified as blood. this guy got murdered

i’m writing a memoir and i’ve been given the great suggestion of placing a ‘sub-narrative’ within some of the chapters – sort of, what was going on with me in the grand scheme of things.

i was wondering how to format this so that it is very obvious we are stepping out the of story.

firstly is a change in font from serif to sans workable? i also use dashes for a scene change. was thinking of using a different scene-changer too.

here’s a (shortened) example:

university – or what’s known as ‘uni’ in australia – were some of the best days of my life. where else do you get to potter around in a great location, have very little responsibility, learn lots of things, do lots of things and walk out four years later with a bonus – a degree!

with my university years i had immersed myself into community of intelligent ambitious people. generally everyone had a confidence about themselves. they knew where they were going in life and weren’t threatened by others.
