Topic information:
Students will read three texts written by various American authors, one who is South Vietnamese-American, one
who is Japanese-American, and one who is African-American. Along with these texts, students will write personal
entries so as to reflect upon the courageousness of the marginalized people in America and around the world. In
addition, students will write a persuasive essay explaining whether or not civil disobedience can peacefully solve
a social injustice.
