Museums of all types employ museum curators. A curator oversees either the whole museum or sections of it. This depends on the overall size of the museum. One of the main jobs of a curator is to find ancient objects and incredible works of art to display in the museum. Curators travel worldwide to obtain new and exciting pieces of art and history to add to the museum’s collection.
Once a new piece of art or historical object has been obtained, it needs to be displayed in the museum. A curator will work with other museum employees to design an exhibit to emphasize the importance of the piece. When a new exhibit opens, the curator may also be involved in planning and hosting public events.
