Iwrote a practice essay for my clep college composition exam, any feedback? the subject is "alcohol usage should be limited"

magine turning on the news and seeing that there was a car wreck due to a drunk driver in your city. you don’t think much of it because it is very common these days. alcohol is legal, and there are rules as to when you can buy it, but there aren’t rules as to when you can drink it. many people are victimized due to this including adults, and even kids. if we controlled the amount of our alcohol intake we wouldn't see news headlines related to crashes caused by drunk drivers.

limited alcohol usage, will prevent tragedies. everywhere in the world alcohol is consumed. during parties to celebrate and be happy, as well as times when you’re feeling blue. it makes us feel numb to the pain, so we just keep drinking and drinking, to the point where it becomes a habit. once it becomes a habit people start calling you an alcoholic because you have an addiction to drinking. it’s something else that takes over your body, you feel like a different person you would do things that you wouldn’t do when you’re sober.

many kids today have parents or caretakers that are victims of alcoholism. the children are subject to domestic abuse and violence. what their parents don’t realize is how it scars their kids, and leaves them to grow up with ptsd, or even do the same with their own. by the time children grow up they are surrounded by peers who drink alcohol as well. it leads to the creation of making fake identification cards. minors are using these cards to buy alcohol, or go into clubs and bars illegally.

if there were certain laws passed to limit the usage of alcohol we wouldn’t hear about so many accidents and tragedies due to it. not to mention there are people who put certain drugs in others drinks to make them knock out. in other words “roofied” some get robbed, and even raped due to the lack of attention that they’re paying when surrounded by the entity of alcohol.

in conclusion, many terrible things can be avoided if we put a limit on our alcohol usage. as people we should come together and look after one another to make sure we can avoid accidents. such as ordering an uber or lyft for a friend if you know that they are intoxicated instead of letting them drive.
