I'm going to post like all my poetry right here because im not about to waste a whole lot more points.

canvas:
my vision is a little blurry,
from the tears form in my eyes,
and as they fall,
i act like they were never there,

by wiping it away as if it was a shaving from an eraser,
and off of my face like an outlined canvas,
that is yet to be filled,

i was to naive to ever care,
about anyone but you,
and when you weren’t there,
i saw a new world and not in a better way,

but where we all wore masks and long sleeves,
to hid the secrets being burned into our flesh,
and the only way to hide the secrets, was to hide yourself.

because when people judge you,
and you hide the most important things,
that make you, you…. away from people,
you start to become someone else,

and i realized that when you left,
i was in my own thoughts and not wondering yours,
and as i explored my mind i saw the world differently,

that i'm still alone even when people are next to me.
that my depression isn’t just my mindset,
but the way i’ll always see the world through my eyes,
and i was blinded from it by you,

i hate this world i see and it makes me more insecure,
and as i drown in the acrylic paint that begins to cover my canvas,
i don’t see the colors, but the shades of grey,
and when i see you, i wonder why it all disappears,

you are the cure to my twisted mind,
and when this canvas is warped overtime,
you’ll see that these layers of paint that fall off,
show the real beauty,

i see that you don’t like it when people see your masterpiece and fight over it,
and i just sit in the back hoping that you notice me,
and you may not know that i like you because my long sleeves,
and mask, just like everyone else,

but you saw that under my mask, and under my long sleeves,
was a person, that didn’t show the love,
but still had it, and had more than anyone else,
but i was still insecure. and you were still all hers.
while i sat in the back, wipe my tears, trying not to smear the canvas.

falling hard:
the white noise is never ending,
your voice left pretending,
when you say that you’d do anything for me,
i didn’t know it was fake,

i guess it was a mistake,
to think that i was enough for you,
but instead i was the bate,
you caught me on the edge of your hook,

and let be burn in the fire,
took the blood from my veins,
tore my heart from my chest,
and smiled with desire,

you left me hanging on a thread,
and when i fell i said,
nothing you could hear,
the blood rushing to my head,

but someone else had caught me,
we talked and he bought coffee,
i didn’t know him much before,
until we started talking,

i felt like i wasn’t alone anymore,
but he told me about his live,
his children and his wife,
and i’m still alone,

in the end i felt fine though,
nothing i hadn’t been told before,
nothing i hadn’t felt,
and this time i didn’t fall as hard,

no one was there to catch my fall,
but i landed on the grass,
not enough padding,
but i made it back at last,

to that place i never thought i’d be,
a love story and a prince charming,
the same person i met before i fell,
but this time less harming,

this time we had fallen in love,
i had his children and was his wife,
and when it came time i was falling hard,
into another life.

Which sentence in this excerpt from leo tolstoy’s the death of ivan ilyich shows the human tendency to contemplate one’s past life? "but if that is so," he said to himself, "and i am leaving this life with the consciousness that i have lost all that was given me and it is impossible to rectify it—what then? " he lay on his back and began to pass his life in review in quite a new way. in the morning when he saw first his footman, then his wife, then his daughter, and then the doctor, their every word and movement confirmed to him the awful truth that had been revealed to him during the night. in them he saw himself—all that for which he had lived—and saw clearly that it was not real at all, but a terrible and huge deception which had hidden both life and death. this consciousness intensified his physical suffering tenfold. he groaned and tossed about, and pulled at his clothing which choked and stifled him. and he hated them on that account. he was given a large dose of opium and became unconscious, but at noon his sufferings began again. he drove everybody away and tossed from side to side. his wife came to him and said: "jean, my dear, do this for me. it can't do any harm and often . healthy people often do it." he opened his eyes wide. "what? take communion? why? it's unnecessary! " she began to cry. "yes, do, my dear. i'll send for our priest. he is such a nice man." "all right. very well," he muttered. when the priest came and heard his confession, ivan ilyich was softened and seemed to feel a relief from his doubts and consequently from his sufferings, and for a moment there came a ray of hope. he again began to think of the vermiform appendix and the possibility of correcting it. he received the sacrament with tears in his eyes.
