Television made possible for the public to judge politicians for their appearance and to evaluate the way in which they presented their ideas. Moreover, television gave politicians the possibility to deliver more political messages and to be exposed to more people; however, it never forced them to be honest. Generally, television has contributed to simulate political transparency, that is to say it has contributed to simulate the political values of openness, honesty and accountability.
