an indian reservation is a place in the united states where native americans managed by a native american tribe under the united states department of the interior’s bureau of indian affairs. there are about 326 native american reservations in the united states, this means not all tribes have a reservation. there are over 573 recognized tribes in the united states, some have more than one reservation while many don’t have a reservation.

native americans culture is one of a kind from numerous points of view. living on the reservations, they were in contact with nature just as their precursors. native americans are contested in the nation, assorted variety among tribes, socially blended, and perceive their political stands. these have changed throughout the years, yet before the recreation of the native americans, the people were recognizable and knew what their identity was.

before the europeans came and changed their living, they felt one with the land. they accept the land was not to be claimed by anybody. the wakonda, a divine being, who in their words identified with all things, made the land. additionally, they communicated their affections for nature as in harmony certainty. before the 'whites' assumed control over the land, the native americans had their laws, as they do now, yet one of the most significant laws was to regard and keep harmony with the predominant race and others around them. this significance the natives had never needed to begin battling with different races. they needed to mind their own business and keep the land perfect and sound. they did everything in and for nature.
