Read the passage "earthshakers bad day. page 28 and 29. the story: "hello uncle. athena said. athena. poseidon nodded at her. welcome both of you. king cecrops slithered up the acropolis towards them. the people of attica are unsure of whom to pick as their new patron god. shall we have a contest to us decide? poseidon looked at athena. she was beautiful, wise, and patient, but his powers were also great. he knew he can win this contest. he was the mighty ruler of all the seas! let us compete. poseidon said. athena bowed her head at him with a smile. good. king cecrops said. then let each of you design a gift for these fine people. whoever gives the best gift wins the city. poseidon thought for a moment. a gift, thats all? the people built their city near the sea because they loved water. even tho he was known as the earthshaker in some parts of the land for causing earthquakes when angry, ruling some parts of the sea was what he did best. slowly, he lifted his trident, brought in down with force, and struck a large rock. right away, a large spring full of water formed, and the people cheered with this water, you may drink and bathe. he said, but when the people rushed over to drink the water, they spit it back onto the ground. it's too salty! they cried. being a sea god, salty water was all poseidon could make. he raised a hand and explained, yes, but it represents the sea and important trade with other lands. you will have a big empire of ships. our city will be the greatest in all the land. the people liked the idea of having a spring to symbolize their greatness, but they also wanted to see what gift athena might give them. athena stepped forward, looked at the surrounding land, and smiled. with her staff, she pointed the end at the ground. with a flash of light, a beautiful tree rose from the ground. behold the olive tree, she told the citizens. it can make you food, oil, wood, and shade. it can be a great product for trade". page 29, skipping the rest." athena made the better gift. poseidon was mad that the clouds darkened. question: how did poseidon feel?

Which excerpt from tinker v. des moines shows how precedent support an argument? a. "as we shall discuss, the wearing of armbands in the circumstances of this case was entirely divorced from actually or potentially disruptive conduct by those participating in it. it was closely akin to 'pure speech' which, we have repeatedly held, is entitled to comprehensive protection under the first amendment. cf. cox v. louisiana, 379 u. s. 536, 555 (1965); adderley v. florida, 385 u. s. 39 (1966)." b. "while the absence of obscene remarks or boisterous and loud disorder perhaps justifies the court's statement that the few armband students did not actually 'disrupt' the classwork, i think the record overwhelmingly shows that the armbands did exactly what the elected school officials and principals foresaw they would." c. "i, for one, am not fully persuaded that school pupils are wise enough, even with this court's expert from washington, to run the 23,390 public school systems [n4] in our 50 states." d. "under our constitution, free speech is not a right that is given only to be so circumscribed that it exists in principle, but not in fact. freedom of expression would not truly exist if the right could be exercised only in an area that a benevolent government has provided as a safe haven for crackpots."
