Kya has read two myths, each from a different culture, about a great flood that destroyed the world. read the following summaries.

in the first myth, the world is destroyed because the people had become very wicked and had strayed from religious behavior. god warns one righteous couple in advance. they build a great boat and save themselves, their family, and two of every animal.

in the second myth, the earth floods because it is thrown into a great ocean by a demon. the earth and its greatest sages are saved by a saintly king who recognizes the gods’ instructions as they are issued from the mouth of what appears to be a fish.
